Real-time Monitoring of Consumer Goods Markets Using Automated Web Data Mining

Investigate if and how publicly available online data can be used for real-time monitoring of consumer goods markets. In that respect, the author addresses the following aspects:

  • What are the typical relevant decision scenarios of decision makers in consumer goods markets?
  • What data needs to be available in order to support these decisions in a meaningful way?
  • While taking into account alternative sources, can such data be retrieved from the internet?
  • Can this process be automated? If so, how?
  • Can meaningful knowledge be extracted from this data? If so, how?
  • Can this process be automated? If so, how?
  • How would an integrated framework look like in order to derive to an integrated real-time analysis?
